The
Best Sex of the XX Century Sale is
a satirical musical comedy review; a mock auction of sexual memorabilia
circa 1900-200. It covers the sexual icons (movie stars, historical figures
and well-known personalities), movements (all the movements on the sexual
dialectic—straight, bi and gay) and many of the scientific breakthroughs
that have affected our sexual lives. The musical styles run the gamut
from popular gay ’90s ditties to hiphop.
Having had an extraordinarily successful 18-month
NYC run from mid-1996-1998, popular both with audiences and critics, having
played at Theater for the New City, The Duplex, Danny’s Skylight
Room and The Triad, it now returns to Theater for the New City for an
open run Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 PM.
