“It’s like ‘Forbidden Broadway’
meets ‘When Pigs Fly.’”
Lissa Moira is talking about what has become the latest cult classic to
come out of Downtown theater. “The Best Sex of the XX Century Sale”
is the latest in the line of gonzo theatricality.
The production started at the Theater for the New City and moved to the
Duplex (212-255-5439). Then the gavel goes down at Danny’s Skylight
Room (212-265-8130). A mix of 46 musical sketches, the show is a parody
of an auction of memorabilia from great moments in the history of sexuality.
“It never stops,” Moira says.
